{Christmas Prizeapolooza 2016} Give the gift of some Thermo loving this Christmas

A little over a year ago the hubs won some massive brownie points and ordered me a Thermomix. Now I don’t want to sound all ‘thermo-cult’ but, well, I bloody love it!

One of the best things that came from this purchase was not only the rockin’ machine but also the wonderful service offered by thermomix consultant Sally Hyland. I simply cannot recommend her enough. sally

Thermomix have consultants all across the Central West that can assist you. If you don’t already have a Thermomix consultant, you can just request a local consultant by visiting the Thermomix in Australia website: https://www.thermomix.com.au/how-to-purchase/contact-us/

Thermomix has some exciting things in the pipeline for 2017 like the launch of the Thermomix Cooking Experience. I love that Thermomix is never standing still and always looking for the next big thing. One new change is the gift registry option so instead of elcrappo wedding gifts you can actually get goooood gifts! I love this idea! So basically now is a fantastic time to give your local consultant a call to find out more!

Your local Thermomix consultant can also help you with your Christmas gifts (just make sure you order by 12 December !) you could give your loved ones (or yourself!) a new cookbook, some new bakeware or even a gift voucher.

Plus, if you are looking for some more cash in the new year why not consider working with thermomix and jumping onboard the Thermomix train?

{The Nest Loves} 12 things I couldn’t live without – Spring 16 Edit

These are a few of my favourite things as we head into Spring 2016.

  1. Ronda Rousey – My Fight Your Fightrousey-book

This book has been a great companion of mine as we pop through into Spring. An easy reading, yet surprisingly inspirational read about one of the fiercest woman in the world. You can grab a copy from Booktopia.

2. Celine Shadow Sunglasses celine

Love is these sunglasses. They are fantastic this time of the year as they are not too dark unlike a few of my other pairs. Definitely an investment worth having.

3. Thermomix thermo

Once the spring fruit starts sprouting I love using the thermo to make jams and marmalades. Waste not want not and all that.

4. CR Mug cr-mug

Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Spring, summer, winter, autumn I need it for them all. Get yours from Country Road.

5. Samsung S7 Edge s7

I am never far from my phone it is my camera, my watch, my distraction, my calendar and above all it’s just mine.

6. ViraproX Lip Care viraprox

I tried this recently as a sample and since then have become a solid convert. It moisturises without being sticky and helps keep away bloody pesky cold sores. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

7. Fresh Flowersflowers

These really are the simplest way to make your days happier. I love nothing more than spying a bunch of brightly coloured petals standing tall in the middle of the dining table. If you can’t be outside, bring the outside in! We loves these gorgeous posies from Vanessa Pringle Floral Designs

8. Bad sheets give me the shits cool-gret

Waking up in good sheets makes for better days. Trust me on that. Good sheets are worth their weight (x a bazillion) in gold. I am currently lusting after the cool grey linen sheets from the team at  InBed

9. Australian House & Garden house

My not so secret indulgence is losing myself in the beautifully curated pages of this magazine with a cup of tea and a strict do not disturb mummy policy for an hour at a time. I always come away afterwards feeling inspired and happy.

10. Clinique Moisture Surge Intense cream clinique

Makes your face prettier and stuff. Especially after all the artificial heating in winter.

11. Tiffany & Co Coin Purse coin-purse

I was given this beautiful little gift a few years ago by some gorgeous girlfriends of mine. I love pulling it out about this time every year because it fits so perfectly in my little handbag that can just be swung over my shoulder in a summer dress. Easy Breezy.

12. My Kikki-K Plannerkikki-k

This is literally the only thing that keeps my days ticking over and me not crumbling into a sad sack of shakiness in the corner. All my information in one stop. Job Done. Get yours from Kikki-k today.

What are your faves?

{The Nest Favourites} The things we love twenty fifteen edit.

2015 was a really big year for our little nest, we welcomed our new little birdie, Coco and celebrated kid-bird’s graduation from kindy before heading to big school soon!

It has been a wonderful year filled with friendship, love and the best kind of sleepless nights.

Here are a few of our favourite things from 2015:

Stink it

The Glasshouse Bordeaux vanilla noir diffuser is a welcome addition to our home this year. Offering small hints of vanilla, dark chocolate and hazelnut it smells delicious. 500ml_Bordeaux_05_grande

You can grab your Glasshouse product online or from Sassy My Style.

We love it because it envelops our nest with touches of velvety reds from the vineyards of south-west France, it has notes of refreshing vanilla, dark chocolate and rich hazelnut. Each time I walk past it I feel like I am in an expensive boutique! Plus, it hides the stink of baby poo and regurgitated milk stink that seems to permeate our home.

Run it

I am loving myself sick in my new pumped up kicks. My new loves are the Asics Gel-Nimbus 17 NYC and I got them from The Athletes Foot

They are bouncy and comfy and totes rad.asics shoe

Plus they tick all the boxes with support, flexibility and general durability.

Sleep it

Early in 2015 we purchased two of the Polly Beds from our friends at Incy Interiors for our toddler-bird and our kid-bird. They share a room and they have been brilliant.

Not only are the Polly Beds whimsical and coloured like lollypops they are sturdy and comfy. We have had adults who stay in the beds comment on how wonderful they are.

* NOTE not actual photo of our beds as they are currently covered with barbies, batman costumes and a moody toddler.

* NOTE not actual photo of our beds as they are currently covered with barbies, batman costumes and a moody toddler.

What makes the Polly Beds even better is the fact that are adjustable and are quite high. This means that I am able to utilise the storage space beneath them. We have stored all old clothes as well as the barbies, Sylvanian Families and dress-ups underneath. Plus one of my mates did the ultimate hack and used an IKEA bookcase on its side for storage straight under the bed. GENIUS.

Plus they look totally amaze.

Wear it

One splurge this year that I am completely loving HARD are my Celine Shadow Sunglassesceline

Whilst not the darkest lenses in my collection that just ooze modern cool. Each time I put them on I instantly feel a smidge bit hip.

Wrap it

The bestest most greatest thing I have ever discovered during my parenting journey are the Love To Dream – Wrap Me Ups.love to dream

They are without a doubt the best investment we have made. We have used these little miracle workers with all three of the little pink dragons and they have ensured many dreams from the littlest ones.

They are safe, help prevent SIDS and allow your little bambino to relax in a natural position.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

Light it

Being on trend can be expensive but our latest find from Kmart is the complete opposite.

The Copper and Wood Lamp is a steal at only $20 and is bang on trend.lamp

It is adjustable and fits beautifully on the side corner of my mess desk.

Cook it

Admittedly I am not the world’s best cook and by best cook I mean I once burned steamed vegetables so bad that they near caught on fire. Having said that, since having my Thermomix I am a bloody champ in the kitchen. I blitz and mince and puree like a kween!

It is a pretty exxy purchase price but I use it A WHOLE LOAD. Even just the ability to make spag-bog on Thursday after swimming lessons but before basketball in 15 minutes is worth it for me. I can add a multitude of vegies and the little birdies don’t even know!

thermo

The best feature for our little nest has without a doubt been the ability to make baby food. No longer do we buy baby food we simply add whatever we are eating to thermorelda and BAM SHAZAM she has dinner. We have not purchased pre-made baby food at all this time around and I certainly am loving that in the hip-pocket.

Work it

I got given a FitBit Charge HR and I love it.

The best bit about having one is that it helps keep you on track. I find that little bit of motivation when you are able to see how much you have moved during the day is brilliant. fitbit

Plus it tells the time, your heart rate and a whole bunch of other important stuff.

Having said that, the actual best part about the FitBit Charge HR is the fact that it tracks your sleep cycle. Sounds so not exciting but it is fantastic when the the hubby-bird says things like “Ah, the baby-bird slept well last night didn’t she” and without saying a word I simply show him my sleep graph and how many times his magical sleeping baby actually woke and needed attention.

Love it

The brilliant Chi Khi kidswear line launched this year and our little birdie has worn her Chi Khi messy dot romper and beanie more than anything else in her wardrobe.

chi khi

So, she has grown a smidgen since this was taken and by a smidgen I mean like 10 kilos.

It is fabulous from a mama point of view because it has a zipper that undoes from the bottom which make early morning changes easy and now that she is getting around it has sensational protection for her little knees.

I just wish they made these in big human size.

So what are you faves this year nesters?

{The Nest Cooks} Sunday Bakeday

I am trying this new thing, basically to make life easier I am trying to bake on Sundays so that during the week for the hubby-bird’s lunches I have food already made so it is as simple as pulling from the freezer and chucking it into his bag.

Plus, I have snacks on standby the the little birdies when the dreaded hunger monster appears. I really enjoy knowing what ingredients are going into their little bellies.

This week we stumbled across a great recipe from the team at The Road To Loving My Thermo Mixer for Apple Crumble muffins.

They are delicious! Plus, they look WAY impressive (like, look tots harder to make than what they really are!)

You can find the recipe here -> Apple Crumble Muffins

Now, do not fear if you are yet to purchase a Thermomix (or similar) because the brilliant team at The Road To Loving My Thermo Mixer offer a non-Thermomix version as well!

Happy cooking Nesters!

{The Nest Laughs} The Katering Show reviews the Thermomix

A few months ago I received a Thermomix from my very generous hubby-bird and to say I am addicted to it is an understatement.

Like if I had to choose between it and I don’t know, like one of my children I would probably hesitate. kate

The fantastic comedic duo Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan have put together the most hilarious ‘review’ of the Thermomix.

I kid you not, when I say you may wee a smidge when watching this. It is sidesplitting-probably-need-to-work-on-my-pelvic-muscles funny.

P.S If you are my infant person reading this in years to come from some therapist’s office, I am tots joking about not choosing my child over the Thermerelda. I always choose you.
