One of my most favourite things about this time of year is just how beautiful our area is. The leaves are starting to change, there is a crispness to the mornings but the days still envelope you with warmness.

A little while ago we were lucky enough to attend Autumnfest at Mayfield Garden.

You all know my love affair with Mayfield Garden and it is honestly because we are yet to attend the garden and not have a wonderful day filled with love, adventure and laughter.

You can explore the garden including the grotto waterfall (kids’ highlight) as well as the garden nursery (my favourite) and the cafe (hubs’ favourite!).

The kids spend the day interacting with nature, there are animals everywhere (including a very friendly peacock!) and there are secret tunnels, winding paths and breathtaking views.

Autumnfest is a day where the garden is transformed and great local bands set up stage in front of the beautiful water feature and the day is spend snacking on beautiful food, listening to music while being surrounded by family and friends.

There are stalls and free face painting for the kids. There was a giant leaf pit and even the chance to meet the musicians.

The best part – we take the kids every year and it’s something we all equally enjoy. There really is something for everyone.

We love the garden and the whole family eagerly marks the calendar as soon as we hear about the next event.

Get your family, friends and even the pet dog and explore one of our areas greatest wonderlands. Mayfield Garden is open just about every single day of the year.

{Locally Found} White Party got it right

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the Mayfield Garden White Party.

I went last year and had a fabulous time (even though I was pregnant and had tonsillitis!) so this year I had high hopes!

I recruited a crew and off we went.

Mayfield Garden is located about 40 minutes from Bathurst and about 10 minutes from Oberon, and because they want you to be able to have a good time and not worry about the car they even arrange a bus to take you from Bathurst for these types of events (cheers, thanks much!)

So we loaded up on a bus with a VERY friendly bus driver and headed off.

Once we arrived at Mayfield Garden we were led down this wonderfully, secretive path and arrived at the chapel. The chapel doors were closed but the views were breathtaking.

After a couple of short moments engulfed by the view, the doors to the chapel were released and we were immediately transported to a secret world. The chapel was filled with smoke and mystery. Waiters holding wines and not wearing many clothes were an eye-opening experience. It was like we had been transported to a medieval Adam & Eve exclusive party.

Set in the middle of the chapel was the most generously glorious food spread I have ever seen, in the event that I am ever offered a last meal I choose this. There were figs and cheese, tarts and prosciutto. Olives and breads. It was honestly some of the most spectacular food I have ever eaten. You could immediately tell how much time and care had been given by the chefs of Mayfield to create not only a spread, but really an edible piece of art.

After a few drinks, some scrumptious food and a multitude of selfies overlooking the magnificent views we were directed back to the bus. We were then transported back down the hill and into the nursery gallery.

The nursery gallery is this beautifully, organic feeling barn that is set just behind the wood fire garden. The moment you walk through the wood fire garden with its lights and fire you feel like you have immediately stepped into some exclusive event surrounded by your friends.

The best way I could describe my night was the feeling that I was at someone’s wedding where there were no strangers only friends I had yet to meet.

The food was phenomenal, the staff friendly and the location unsurpassed.

I can’t recommend enough that you should collect your friends and attend the next event at Mayfield Garden.

{Locally Found} Mayfield’s AutumnFest

As you all are no doubt aware, I love exploring what we are lucky enough to have on offer in our local area and one of my favourite areas is bringing some tunes to us in the best kind of way.

On 30 April 2017 Mayfield Gardens will be hosting AutumnFest and it is going to be the perfect way to spend time with your family while listening to some of the best that Australian music has to offer. On stage will be legendary Aussie rocker James Reyne, as well as performances by Boom Crash Opera, Matt Boylan-Smith and dynamic duo, Smith & Jones.

AutumnFest kicks off at 12pm and not only will you and your family be exposed to some beautiful tunes from some brilliant artists but you can select from some sensational local eateries during the afternoon. Mayfield Gardens are thrilled to be offering treats for your tastebuds from Smoking Brothers, Al Dente, Moubar Vintage, Tommys and Two Heads Brewery.

In case you don’t want to drive, there will be transfers from Oberon, Bathurst, Orange, Lithgow and Katoomba.

{Locally Found} White Night was just Right

I was lucky enough to attend the inaugural White Night Party at Mayfield Garden recently and I had an absolute blast!

Upon arrival we were met by the gorgeous and eternally friendly Meg who welcomed us with a big smile and a glass of delicious punch (that girl knows how to make friends!)

I have to admit I have never been to the gardens before but once I followed the winding path I was amazed to see just how beautiful the place is! The party was centred under a generous white tent surrounded by rolling grass hills and a magnificent water feature.

We found our seats on the shared tables and quickly made friends with the people beside us. I love the idea of communal tables, I think it is so easy to go places with your friends and only stay in your group but shared tables encourage you to meet those around you. We were lucky enough to sit with a couple of very friendly ladies from Raine and Horne Real Estate in Bathurst.

The tables were generously adorned with flowers and fernery as well as bottles of red and white wine. It was certainly clear from the outset that no one was going to be short of a drink all night!

The whole place felt like we had stepped into an exclusive Hampton’s party, the floral decorations from Ivory Rose Botanicals were sublime, generous and really were the icing on the cake.

The night’s entertainment was a brilliant band The Orient Royal Mail Band who played well into the night and Mayfield Garden even ran a surprise fake wedding to showcase how brilliant a wedding could be at the grounds. I tell you what, if I was planning a wedding the Gardens would certainly be one of the frontrunners for me!

The food was delicious and generous and in particular if I could get my little mitts on an endless supply of the olive bread I would be eternally happy. I am obsessed with it, it was without a doubt the yummiest bread I have EVER eaten. *recipe please!*

The food was scrumptious and I am a strong believer in the food mentality on offer from Heath Smith and Head Chef Dan Child who offer paddock to plate wherever possible. Mayfield Garden are really ahead of the game when it comes to sustainable local produce being used effectively and absolutely deliciously.

All in all I look forward to going back next year to Mayfield Garden‘s White Night and celebrate a night filled with laughter, friendship and good food with my pals.

I can’t wait until the next chance I get to head out to Mayfield Garden. I hear there’s a cafe – oohhh I wonder if they have the olive bread!?!?

{Locally Found} White Night at Mayfield Gardens

I am super excited to be heading to the first annual White Night at Mayfield Gardens this weekend and I would love to see you there.

The party kicks off at 6.30pm and your ticket includes all food and alcohol for the evening!

What I love is that they support local, and the delicious sounding menu includes locally grown produce as well as local wines, beers and ciders.

Mayfield Gardens supports paddock to plate and over 80% of the menu comes directly from the Mayfield Garden and farm!

I am super eager to get my white on and have a grown up night out with good people, in beautiful surrounding while enjoying some kiddie free time.
