{Christmas Prizeapolooza 2018} Grab some Kisses From Kate

If you have been following the blog for a while you will know that I am an absolute sucker for lipstick. I honestly believe that whacking some red on, makes every day better. You feel more confident and more powerful just with that little move.

Little did I know there was SO much more choice than just a simple red lippy from woolies.

My eyes were open by the lovely Kate Davis who is a local, independent LipSence, SeneGene Skincare and Makeup distributor.

Not only has she become my go-to for lipstick but now ALL my makeup needs/wants/demands/desires/looks.

Kate tells me one of the things that drew her to the products were the fact that they are lead free, wax free, gluten free, contain no animal by-products and aren’t tested on animals. How amazing is that?

You know what else gives Kate credit in my book? The only reason she started selling the products in the first place is because she fell so in love with them when she was using them just for personal use. I love when people just find a passion for something because it actually works for them.

Kate says she is learning more and more about proper skin care and budge proof makeup every single day, and all she wants to do is help other women feel as good about themselves as possible.

Plus, Kate is just an ordinary everyday woman who doesn’t have hours to get ready in the morning, so she just needs reliable products that make her feel a million bucks (but without a hefty price tag)

She had me hooked the moment she told me their lipsticks would last basically all day. So of course I was like “game on mole” and tested it. To my surprise it did actually last. I’m talking through 3 coffees, lunch, slobbery baby kisses and much more.

Check out KissesFromKate today because you won’t regret it (plus it makes Christmas shopping SUPER easy!)

{The Nest Loves} Things that make us smile

Sometimes nice things just make life well, nicer.

Here are our latest loves that are keeping our mood happy even during these gloomy winter days. FotorCreated

Winter does completely shit things to your skin and Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish for $69 can hide a magnitude of sins! I use this product SO often when you need that extra bit of coverage and it lasts for such a long time!

A little while ago I discovered the City Chic Coloured Drapey Blazer for $89.95. I LOVE this jacket so much that I also have it in white! It is great for throwing over the top of a dress or for layering in the colder months. Plus it makes you look so glam with very little effort so win-win!

I regularily find myself coming back to Matt Preston’s 100 Best Recipes. It is available from Angus Robertson for $35.99 and I really recommend you get it. This cook book is different from many others in the fact that the stories that go along with it are entertaining and worth reading in themselves! The recipes are just a delicious added bonus!

A few weeks ago I discovered the Kmart Copper and Wood Table Lamp for only $20! I added to my desk and I all of a sudden feel much more trendy (look I know the fact that I just used the term trendy in a sentence totes makes me uncool anyway) but I really like it. Plus anything copper is killer at the moment!

I am single handedly bringing glow mesh back. I LOVE my new wallet from MIMCO and you too can climb aboard the glow-mesh-come-back-train by grabbing the Mesh Pouch for $89.95.

The Marc Jacobs ‘Daisy’ perfume makes you stink all nice again and funnily enough brings a little piece of springtime hope to the cold winter days. It is available from David Jones $90

What are your loves?

Stay warm Nesters x

beautiful glow

Plus, because they are completely lovely they have agreed to answer all of your beauty related questions!

Q: Do you know any ways to stop cold sores? Or at least help minimise them? Or hide them!

This is a tough one because no one likes cold sores! In our experience we find that when Lysine tablets are used on a daily basis it can help prevent cold sores. Even when the first tingling sensation starts  Lysine tablets can help to prevent the sores from coming up and properly forming.

Q: Why should I use Toner?

Toners can be used in all different ways, generally however toners are used as an added hydration to the skin when placed under a good moisturiser. Toners can also be sprayed over the skin (and over makeup) throughout the day to rehydrate and protect skin.

Q: What are the best products to minimise dark circles under the eyes?

Dark circles are really tricky to try and fix. The best way is to use an eyecream, Dermalogica offer an amazing eyecream for dark circles called ‘Total Eye Care’. It has optical light diffusers to help conceal the dark circles. In addition, using a concealer around the eyes also can make a massive difference in masking the darkness.

Q: How long before an event should I get a spray tan?

Before an upcoming event we always recommend getting a spray tan either 1 or 2 days prior. Spray tans have come along way since they first started and look so much more natural now. After getting a spray tan it is really important to moisturise your skin to keep the tan looking its best.

Q: What is the best way to protect my skin now the weather is cooling down?

With the change of season we are finding a lot of changes in our client’s skin. Drinking water can really help to rehydrate the skin and stepping up to a more hydrating moisturiser also makes a difference. We recommend you get a facial at the start of the cooler months so we can have a close look at the skin and help to treat it the best way possible. Exfoliating is also very important for our skin. By removing the dead skin cells it allows our serums and moisturisers to penetrate deeper.

We hope that helps! We would love to hear from all Nesters regarding their beauty questions! If you have any questions just email centralwestnest@outlook.com

Happy health and beauty x

{Love birds} Love is.. Rachael & Mitchell

‘What is a soulmate? Well, it’s like a best friend, but more. It’s the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It’s someone who makes you a better person, well, actually they don’t make you a better person… you do that yourself– because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It’s the one person who knew you, and accepted you, and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens.. you’ll always love them’. – Dawson’s Creek

couple

It is with the most heartfelt truth that I say I have never seen two people more in love than the beautiful Mr & Mrs Thurn. They are young, beautiful and genuinely the most beautiful of souls intertwined together forever. It was an absolute privilege to be invited to share this beautiful day with this fantastic couple.
