{Girl Crush Tuesday} Captured by Aimee

We have some pretty hard girl crushes. These are the types of ladies that stamp their style on the world. They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place. Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4

Today we are hearting hard on the gorgeous Aimee Cook from Aimee Cook Photography.

Aimee Cook is a local lady who loves capturing the important moments and sharing them for everyone to see. Aimee is a baby, family and wedding photographer based in Bathurst. She is creative, talented and above all, completely lovely.

One of the most wonderful things about Aimee is that she started the Beautiful-You campaign. This is a program that allows parents of children with special needs to obtain photographs of their little superheros at no cost. Aimee offers a safe environment for these children to flourish which in turn allows Aimee to capture the perfect moments of childhood without a judgmental stare. What I love most about the Beautiful-You project is that it provides a place for children to be children while mum and dad are gifted with special memories for always.

Aimee loves being involved in the local community and regularly donates her time and skillset wherever she can.

Thanks Aimee for showing all little girls that through hard work and a kind heart you really can make the world around you a better place.

{The Nest Loves} True love isn’t just poems and roses

True love isn’t just voluptuous bunches of red roses and love poem serenades. More often it is dishes and comfort and kindness.

Korean artist “Puuung” has captured the love that people actually relate to. She is remarkably clever with her illustrations and we LOVE the honesty of them.

Breathtaking Pictures of the Human Race

The world is a remarkable place and I love the idea that one photograph can capture a moment in time. It freezes it. It steals it from history. Preserves it.

This wonderful collection of images are powerful and breathtaking and remarkable.

Sometimes you just need to be reminded of the big world that exists not that far from our own backyard..

{Do This} A photo-a-day keeps the memories alive

A few years ago I began completing a photo-a-day challenge in a couple of months of each year. Usually I choose a month towards the end of the year and one in the middle.

It captures one little moment every day in our family for one whole month. Sometimes they are happy. Sometimes they are boring. Sometimes they are sad. But they are always US.

It is funny the little things you forget. The moments you wouldn’t remember without these images.

It makes me grateful. It reminds me of the special times. It encourages me to capture memories to pass onto my daughters.

I really cannot encourage you enough to do this. It is something that makes you smile. It is something the future you will be thankful that you started.

Here are a couple of the images I have captured over the last few years. They are my legacy.

"1 July 2014: Audrey, you are the sunshine on my rainy days. While you are mischief and naughtiness in one tiny little package, you are also the definition of fun, laugher and attitude. You are strong and stubborn. You are caring and hilarious. You smile with your whole body. You draw on walls. You lick things you shouldn’t. You teach us patience. You are perfection. You are so very, deeply loved."

29 December 2013: Some moments are just absolute bliss. A perfect instant that shows actual true love. This is that moment. A quiet time, a peaceful time. Two best friends together in their own private moment - enjoyed and captured by their very proud mummy.

5 June 2013 - When you feed a baby, just for a little while the world stops. You are connected together. I know in the not to distant future my Audrey will long to be independent, she will want to feed herself, and the way she looks at me during a feed will just be a memory. Until that time, I will spend my days staring straight back at her.

This is what happens when your 14 months old and mother nature is so mean that she made it rain on the day after you got your new play equipment. You can see your new toys outside through the window. Mummy says your not allowed to go into the rain and play. You don't understand why. So you just cry. Because you can.

7 December 2011 - Christmas has always been my favourite time of the year, but this year is just a little bit more special. Our little girl is old enough now to really enjoy the whole experience. She thinks that Gamma and Grandpop's lights are just the best thing. We pull up in the street and she just says "wow, wow, priddy, priddy,(pretty) wow" so much that she doesn't even breathe properly. This photo is so special to me because it shows my two favourite people enjoying a gorgeous moment together..

Some people are just ridiculously talented. Like if you are lucky enough to be in their presence when they are creating their ‘art’ you are simply blown away. I feel that way about the wonderfully skillful Jennifer Stocks.jen stocks logoFirstly, for the purposes of being upfront I should disclose that she is a part of my family. The best way to describe her photography style is fresh, contemporary, pure and simple. She captures moments in time so you can keep them for always.

penny

She is a professional newborn, baby, child & family photographer servicing the Central West. I can honestly say she regularly amazes me with her sublime work and the sensational care she gives her clients.

Jen is taking some well-deserved time away from her business for 12 months to spend some more quality time with her little birdies (she has four!!) but I assure you will be back, bigger and better then ever in the not too distant future.
