Chalk. Creative Designs was launched while Amy was on maternity leave with her first little bambino and has grown since that time. Amy says she has had a love for stationery and design and says her high school diaries were the prettiest you’ve ever seen. It was just a natural progression to start her own little business after always designing things for friends and family.

Amy is an absolute perfectionist and spends the extra time making sure fonts are perfect and everything is aligned exactly as it should be. Amy says it’s not about the money but rather a love of creating beautiful designs.

One of our favourite new lusts is Words Etc.

Run by the fantastic Jacqui Greig from Forbes (and online!) she offers custom design services for all your invitation, stationary and print needs!

Words Etc has been running for just over 12 months and is becoming a real frontrunner in the graphic design environment.

I think what makes Jacqui different is that she is so incredibly passionate about good design, and will go above and beyond to ensure the end product matches the client’s vision perfectly. She genuinely loves nothing more than the challenge of finding an exact font, or deciding on the right colour shade to make someone happy. She says it is the small details that really make the difference.

Jacqui is a journalist by trade, not a graphic designer, and it is this that gives her an advantage in working with clients. She says it allows her and her clients to understand each other without ‘graphic-design-mumbo-jumbo-designer-language’.

Words Etc is growing all the time and 2015 is going to be the biggest year yet! As a girl after my own heart she had a solid soft spot for stationary and is working on her very own collection of social stationary with a distinctive stamp of style! Stay tuned for that Nesters!

She will also be releasing a whole new collection of prints in the new year.. WOO HOO!
