{Girl Crush Tuesday} The supremely talented Kristy Withers of Incy Interiors

We have some pretty hard girl crushes. These are the types of ladies that stamp their style on the world. They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place.

Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4

This local lady is creative, determined and friendly. She is talented, innovative and smart.

If you are a regular reader of The Central Nest, you will know our ongoing addiction to all things Incy. Even as I type this, I can hear the tiny snores of my one year old from the comfort of her ‘Jemima Cot’ that was purchased from Incy a couple of years ago. Today’s girl crush is none other than the remarkable Kristy Withers of Incy Interiors.

Kristy is an absolute rockstar when it comes to all things interior design. Her fabulous style and eye for detail makes her a front runner in the competitive market of little people furniture and design.

Kristy offers a fresh take on interior design and produces good quality products that are functional, beautiful and timeless.

What we love about the delightful Kristy is that she not only manages to run a fantastically booming business but you will often find her personally behind the counter of her local store. Plus, somehow she manages to make time for her true loves, her husband, children and rest of the family.

Kristy is a true businesswoman with a background in marketing and a desire to create good quality, practical products for little humans.

She shows little girls everywhere that with a dream and plenty of hard work you can definitely stamp your mark on the world. Who says you can’t have it all?

{The Nest Design Files} Willow & Wood we would kiss you if we could

Stop what you are doing this instant.

I am about to introduce you to something very special. Not only is this my new latest little crush, but I also just happen to have one piece hanging spectacularly in my own home.

willow & wood

Willow & Wood is a family owned business that was created by the talented design savvy Rebecca Tyndall with the help of her timber craftsman father. She found herself frustrated when unable to locate well-designed, functional wall-hung furniture for her home and realised there was a real gap in the market for some quality pieces.

Willow & Wood create masterpieces that are built by hand, with love and made to last.

Their philosophy is pretty simple they ‘make only QUALITY, HANDCRAFTED and BEAUTIFUL products that we LOVE and that our FRIENDS, FAMILY and hopefully our customers will LOVE too’.

Plus, they are proudly Australian made.

SNAP. Just simply perfect.

We have the gorgeous white maxi organiser hanging in our kitchen and could not be happier with it. We have had so many people comment on their love for it and how practical it is.

We really are glad that we found Willow & Wood and think you will be too..

The gorgeous Kristy Withers

The gorgeous Kristy Withers

Incy Interiors was officially launched in February 2011 and since then has grown to be a forthright force in children’s interior design.

This sensational business is the brainchild of Kristy Withers who struggled to find a ‘big boy bed’ for her son Oscar. After an extensive search locally and abroad left her frustrated (and poor little Oscar stuck in his cot) she realised there was a real gap in the market for a new player in children’s furniture design who could provide good quality, practical and reasonably priced merchandise.

Incy Interiors offers functional and attractive cots and beds as well as chairs, change tables, bookcases, side tables, and play table and chair sets.

Really, they offer absolutely anything you could possibly need to make a perfect little nest for your sweet little bird for years to come.

What makes the story of Incy Interiors just a little bit more special is that it is family run business. Kristy is assisted everyday by her sister Tara and brother Tom. Plus some more friendly local faces.

Kristy says a real highlight for her and the team was when they were announced as the Best Furniture Brand in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year. To be formally recognised is such an honour (and well deserved we say!)

Whether your style is a pimpin’ gelato crib or more sophisticated provincial furniture, Incy Interiors can hook you and your baby birds up.

Incy Product Shots407In the meantime, I am considering starting an Incy Interiors support group. I AM SLIGHTLY ADDICTED to their fabulous products.

{Design} Can I see your drawers?

I have found what I have been searching for – Admittedly I wasn’t even sure that I was searching, yet I feel like I have finally found some hidden treasure that should have always been mine.

Let me introduce you to the ‘Recycled Timber Luck of the Drawer’ from Jumbled in Orange.

O-MY-DESIGN-GODS!drawers-family-love-tree3_1024x1024

The drawer is made from recycled timber and has six drawers. It has been hand painted with pastel coloured triangles and a wax finish.

This is so popular you need to order now for delivery in February next year!

You may wish to save your pennies though, it retails for $1,995.00 plus shipping.. Ah dreams…

The right kind of plank

Sometimes the most simple ideas are simply the best. I want this for our nest. Simple. Clever. Beautiful.

Got a papa-bird who has a couple of free hours on the weekend? Why not ask him to throw together this wood bookrest?

Put together using a plank of wood and casters from any hardware store!

Simple.

Incy Interiors

jemima cot from Incy interiors

Recently we were lucky enough to purchase one of these amazing cots from Incy Interiors. Our seven month old absolutely adores it. I love how it makes me smile each time I walk into her room and I look forward to watching her grow in this fabulous piece of furniture.

I cannot recommend Incy Interiors furniture enough!
