| Shout out | I see you.

Today’s advice: I can see those of you who unliked The Central Nest the day after the Christmas giveaway was drawn. So probably don’t bother to join again just in time for next year’s comp.. #justsayin

EDIT: The Christmas Prizeapolooza is a giveaway designed to say thanks to all those who support the blog all year round. Having said that and just to clarify, it doesn’t matter if you only found us and ‘liked’ us the day before the comp that’s fine! This is a shout out to those who choose to only like us for competition times.

The only reason the Prizeapolooza is growing so much every year is because all the local businesses can see what a great little community the Nester family is. We love local, we support each other and provide a great community to have contact with others around us.

So, if you have friends that you think will benefit from the nester community invite them to join the family. 2018 is going to be a great year for us and the bigger we can grow the community the greater the 2018 Christmas Prizeapolooza will be.

Thanks to all of you who support and share the love of The Central Nest,

{The Nest Wears} Capsule Wardrobe and Beauty Essentials (For Any Season)

Brace Yourself

For the most of the world it’s time you put away all the sweaters and dark coats, and get the flowy, colourful clothes from the back of our wardrobe. In Australia, we are bracing ourselves for the winter. For all of us, building capsule wardrobe is crucial. If you feel like you already have too many items in your wardrobe, and you’re thinking about creating a capsule wardrobe with some essential pieces, we’re here to help. We give you a brief list of things you need to have in your wardrobe and in your makeup drawer.

Flower power

Nature is waking up, so why should you be wearing boring black pieces? Yes, a little black dress is something every girl should have in her wardrobe, but why not add another piece which will be equally elegant, only more colourful? Floral dresses are amazing – you can wear them with strappy sandals and bright red lipstick to get that serious look, or you can wear flats and floppy hats to look like a young girl. What is more, you can even wear them with leggings, ankle boots and a light trench coat if the weather is not that nice and sunny on your side of the planet.

Tops to the rescue

The most useful items in everyone’s wardrobe are tops because they are so versatile and can be worn with a great number of different pieces. ‘Spring fever’ usually means that you’ll be doing some shopping, but you still don’t want to be a shopaholic who buys without a plan. You can easily find stylish women’s tops online across Australia and you can get the one that you like best: lace, striped, crop top, or off-the-shoulders one at a decent price. When buying tops, keep in mind that trends change often, and you’ll need something you’ll be wearing for more than one season.

Sunscreen forever

With warm days ahead, you will definitely be spending more time outside than you did before. This means that your skin will be exposed to the sun more, and while vitamin D levels in your system will be higher, your skin may suffer. Applying a layer of SPF before you put on your makeup can help keep your skin looking radiant and youthful, but we often forget to do that and only remember after we have put on foundation. When it comes to autumn/winter season, people usually forget that it is as important to have UV protection as it is in the warmer seasons. This is why you should always have a foundation with an SPF – it saves your time and it does wonders for your skin. By choosing to use this kind of foundation, your imperfections will not be visible and your skin will be protected from harmful UV rays.

Focus on your lips

Your lips are suffering in winter with all the harsh weather – the cold and wind are not kind to the gentle skin of your lips, and they need some time to recover. During winter, you should always use lip balm, and you should not stop it in spring either. Exfoliate your lips with a mixture of white sugar and coconut or olive oil at the end of the day, and before you leave the house, put on some lip balm. You can try switching your ordinary lip balm for some nice pastel lip gloss. What is more, you can try matching your lip gloss to your nail polish – this season, everyone will be crazy about pastels, so you might give it a try.

It’s time to brighten up a little bit. Feel free to change the colours of your clothes and swap those grey and navy hues for some pastels, flower prints, and stripes. Whatever season you might be expecting, go for timeless clothes and choose the ones that reflect your personality and boosts your mood.
