Today we salute the fantastically talented Delta Goodrem.

Delta is undeniably Australia’s princess of pop and has one of the best voices that the country has ever heard. She is an actor, a performer, a presenter, a songwriter and even a judge on the Australian version of the voice.

Delta is amazing not only on the stage but more importantly behind the limelight. She is a cancer survivor who regularly supports many charities including even donating a portion of her concert proceeds to the Delta Goodrem Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research Trust Fund. She is also an ambassador for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Delta also supports RADD (Recording Artists, Actors And Athletes Against Drunk Driving), to help raise awareness of the risks of drunk driving.

Delta is the epitome of a superstar and shows all little girls, that through hard work, perseverance and genuine Australian spirit girls really can run the world.

Today we are hearting hard on the gorgeous Aimee Cook from Aimee Cook Photography.

Aimee Cook is a local lady who loves capturing the important moments and sharing them for everyone to see. Aimee is a baby, family and wedding photographer based in Bathurst. She is creative, talented and above all, completely lovely.

One of the most wonderful things about Aimee is that she started the Beautiful-You campaign. This is a program that allows parents of children with special needs to obtain photographs of their little superheros at no cost. Aimee offers a safe environment for these children to flourish which in turn allows Aimee to capture the perfect moments of childhood without a judgmental stare. What I love most about the Beautiful-You project is that it provides a place for children to be children while mum and dad are gifted with special memories for always.

Aimee loves being involved in the local community and regularly donates her time and skillset wherever she can.

Thanks Aimee for showing all little girls that through hard work and a kind heart you really can make the world around you a better place.

Today is filled with double the love as we salute the beautiful due Smith & Jones.

Smith & Jones are a whimsical duo who play music that doesn’t quite fit the mould but perfectly creates a blend of country, folk and jazz.

Sophie Jones and Abby Smith knew their friendship was gold once they met at record shop and bonded over a love of classic country and blues. Blending a fantastic attitude and undeniable talent the duo created Smith & Jones and have been since performing at numerous venues all over the state.

Their unstoppable talent has led them to being nominated as Young Australian’s of the Year in 2015 and more recently had the duo at number One on Country Music Radio!

When you watch Smith & Jones perform you are transferred to a magical place of harmony and soul. Their music is powerful and beautiful and really shows how brilliant Australian musical talent can be.

Thank you Smith & Jones for showing our little girls that dreams really can come true and we really can be rock stars.

{Girl Crush Tuesday} The fabulous Mia Freedman

We have some pretty hard girl crushes. These are the types of ladies that stamp their style on the world. They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place. Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4

Today we salute Mia Freedman. Mia is a fabulously strong woman who uses her voice through many avenues. She is an editor, writer, author and blogger. She was even the youngest ever editor of Australian Cosmopolitan at the age of 24!

What we love about Mia is that she isn’t afraid to go against the norm and give her opinion regardless of the consequences. She stands by her strong opinions and isn’t naïve enough to believe that everyone will agree with her but instead supports the right of free speech.

If you are a parent with internet access you will have no doubt come across Mia’s websites, Ivillage and Mamamia. These sites are read by thousands and thousands of people every single day. She gives a voice and advice to many who don’t know where to go.

Mia isn’t afraid of standing out from the crowd and uses this power to push many causes close to her heart. These include encouraging women to embrace their bodies and giving support to those who have experienced stillborn births and miscarriages.

Mia has been very open about her own experiences with mental illness and in particular living everyday with anxiety. Brave women like Mia who use their positions to talk more openly about these issues increase awareness and acceptance for even more members of the community.

Mia might not be everyone’s cup of tea but to others she is certainly their glass of champagne.

Thanks Mia for showing our little girls not to be afraid of using their voices loudly and proudly and for teaching them that through hard work and a little perseverance anything is possible.

{Girl Crush Tuesday} The Young Mummy

We have some pretty hard girl crushes. These are the types of ladies that stamp their style on the world. They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place. Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4Today we salute the honest, beautiful and creative Sophie Cachia – also known as The Young Mummy.

The main reason we love Sophie is because of her wonderfully brutal honesty. She is an excellent writer who shares the brilliance (and trials) of the everyday.

Sophie describes her writing as ‘boobs, pubes & all’ and she tries to keep it as real as possible. She shares her experiences as a mum, a wife and a young woman.

The thing that drew me to Sophie in the first place was her incredible honesty when she talks about her struggles with mental illness and in particular post-natal depression following the birth of her delightful son Bobby. I think the more people who give a voice to those who struggle, the easier it will be for people to seek help. I know she certainly helped me.

Sophie has transformed into a passionate crusader for many charities and given a voice to those who need it most.

One of the bravest things that Sophie has done was to share the birthing experience of her daughter Florence with the world. She shared contractions, the waiting, the pain with everyone and reminded each one of us just how powerful the female body can be.

Sophie is simply delightful and lights up my social media feed every day. We salute you Sophie for showing all little girls that a little honesty and a little bit of braveness can go a long way. Life may not be entirely perfect but it is certainly what you make of it.

{Girl Crush Tuesday} Local superhero Robyn

We have some pretty hard girl crushes. These are the types of ladies that stamp their style on the world. They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place. Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4Today’s girl crush is a local lady named Robyn Rayner who has made a really big difference to her local community of Hill End. So much so that Robyn was actually nominated by another nester because she is that wonderful!

I am told that Robyn is a modern day superhero who saved Hill End from a nuclear dump legacy that would have been passed onto all of our children. She took on the Federal Government and won! Robyn was a fierce and knowledgeable spokesperson who was able to save our local area from eternal nuclear poison.

Not only is Robyn a superhero in the political arena but also manages to run a multi-award winning merino stud with her husband Geoff. On top of that, this beautiful woman also has taken part in making sure farmers out Dunedoo way have enough hay to feed their livestock after the recent fires and has even driven out there to drop it off.

How brilliant is it to see a local woman doing fantastic things for her area and those around her.

So, we salute you Robyn for being a modern day superhero.

They are the type of people that will always be remembered and little girls grow up wanting to be. They are women of substance. Women that make the world a better place. Happy Girl Crush Tuesday everybody.line4Today we salute local performer extraordinaire Lauren Plenderleith.

Lauren is a local girl who I have had the privilege of knowing for an extraordinarily long time, she is super involved in the community and has a heart of gold.

Lauren is a singer extraordinaire and I guarantee that you would have seen her gracing stages at many functions you have attended in our local area over the years.

She has been a band member of Nuthin’ 2 Serious for over 13 years and as if that’s not enough she is also a founding member of of Momentum, a new musical group that are rockin’ out sounds everywhere. In fact, Momentum are opening for and supporting Diesel later this year! What a great achievement.

Lauren is such a superstar that she was given the well deserved honour of being MC for the Bathurst Carols by Candlelight last Christmas and to say she smashed it is a massive understatement! She also performed at Rock of Ages.

On top of all this Lauren is a mother and a wife who has a day job as well!

There is absolutely nothing better than seeing a local girl done good.

Here’s to you Lauren, we can’t wait to see you rock the stage for years to come. Thanks for showing our little girls that confidence and hardwork pays off.
