Professor Green is a clinical epidemiologist and leader in biomedical science who has contributed to combating skin cancer and melanoma through groundbreaking research. She has played a crucial role in encouraging and convincing all of us that putting on sunscreen is a good way to fight skin cancer. She was among the first to identify the skin cancer epidemic in Australia and then a landmark study of the disease in the Queensland town of Nambour helped identify the best ways to fight it. She is also a senior researcher at QIMF Berghofer Medical Research Institute.
Adèle has dedicated her career to understanding the preventable causes of cancers including skin cancer and melanoma, and collaboratively ovarian and oesophagus cancers. Adèle was among the first to address the skin cancer epidemic in Queensland. She played a crucial role in convincing Australians that regular use of sunscreen halves the risk of melanoma.
