{The Nest Relationships} Are you up for a 10 day marriage challenge?

It is absolutely no surprise to anyone that marriage is hard. It can be tough (and frustrating) but also so rewarding and the most spectacular relationship of your life.

The team at The Vanilla Tulip have put together an interesting idea. The 10 day marriage challenge. Basically you and your spouse complete the challenge for 10 days and on the last day you have a date. Sounds simple enough?!

‘Marriage is hard.

Especially in the society that we live in.

Whether your marriage is at an all time low or at an all time high…

we need to be cultivating and pouring into our spouse.

We need to be strengthening and protecting our marriages.

Which is where this 10 Day Marriage Challenge comes into play.

We would love if you and your spouse would join us the next 10 days!’ Vanilla Tulip

While we are not sure whether this will work, we are interested in anything that assists communication in marriages.

Not so long ago, a long story happened. Shell met Justin and they fell madly into each other. They are best friends, lovers, kindred spirits. Together forever.

This is a beautiful wedding and I love scrolling through their photos seeing their love for each other. We know these two will be the happily ever after.

{Love birds} Love is.. Rachael & Mitchell

‘What is a soulmate? Well, it’s like a best friend, but more. It’s the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It’s someone who makes you a better person, well, actually they don’t make you a better person… you do that yourself– because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It’s the one person who knew you, and accepted you, and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens.. you’ll always love them’. – Dawson’s Creek

couple

It is with the most heartfelt truth that I say I have never seen two people more in love than the beautiful Mr & Mrs Thurn. They are young, beautiful and genuinely the most beautiful of souls intertwined together forever. It was an absolute privilege to be invited to share this beautiful day with this fantastic couple.

{Love Birds} Leigh & Stuart and their happily ever after

“For you see, each day I love you more. Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow. “ Rosemonde Gerard

There are some weddings that simply show true love. This wedding is one such example. A combination of impeccable taste, exquisite attention to detail and handmade touches make this honestly one of the most beautiful weddings I have seen. Leigh and Stuart show what love is and how simply beautiful a wedding can be. Happily ever after is not a term to be used lightly but sometimes it is just right. Here are Mr & Mrs McLean – Happily Ever After.

couple

The Love birds: Stuart McLean, 27 year old diesel mechanic & Leigh Stapleton, 29 year old Teacher

Ceremony: In Carcoar at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception. We wanted an intimate church with lots of character and beautiful light for our photographs.

kiss

Reception: Athol Gardens, Blayney. We looked at every venue in the district but when we walked in to Athol Gardens we both knew it was perfect for us. Stunning gardens and an outdoor terrace that suited our taste to a tee.

Theme: Just a mixture of our favourite things- black, white, beige with a touch of lace and a splash of electric blue

leigh

The Dress: Ivory, strapless, silk gown with a ruched bodice and flowing skirt from Wendy Makin Couture Leigh says she tried on so many dresses and loved them all! She made a top 5 and chose this one mainly for the gorgeous silk fabric. She added a flower from another dress she loved. Leigh says ‘I wore electric blue shoes for my something blue, my grandmother’s pearls for my something old and wore my sister’s veil as something borrowed’.

Groom & wedding party attire: The bridesmaids wore dresses floor length chiffon dresses from Seduce in a soft dusty pink.

Groom & Groomsmen wore light grey suits with white shirts and white silk ties.

group

Hair: Wavelength Bathurst

Makeup: Macquarie Skin & Day Spa

Decorations: Table centres- large 3 wick candles wrapped in black lace & ribbon

Stuart & Leigh's Wedding340

Bonbonnieres – Little jars of Rhubarb jam (made by the bride) & White violas in beige ceramic pots with custom labels made by the bride

Food:

Canapés: Prawns with chilli & lime salt; Arancini balls with spinach and buffalo mozzarella; Duck in crisp wonton cups; Chilli feta and crispy pancetta crostini

Dessert: Vanilla Pannacotta and slow roasted rhubarb with a vanilla tuile or Chocolate Hazelnut praline with chocolate sauce

Cake: One tier tall round carrot cake with layers of cream cheese, covered in butter cream icing and topped with fresh roses the same as the bouquets. The Bride says she made the cake herself (even though everyone thought she was crazy – but really she says she is just too picky to trust anyone else) and the cake topper and bouquets were by Florabundance.

cake

Drinks: Local Wines from Cumulus and Angullong and a selection of beers and spirits.

Photographer: Jennifer Stocks from Jennifer Stocks Photography- the most amazing photographer! Jen usually only photographs babies and families but we twisted her arm as an old friend to capture our day. We could be happier with our photos taken around beautiful Carcoar.

girls

Rings: The wedding bands are Quorra purchased at WJ Coote and Sons. Leigh has a white gold diamond wedder and a plain band either side of my engagement ring and Stuart chose a thick white gold plain band.

Stationary: All stationary was handmade by the bride including the invitations, service booklets, escort cards and table numbers. The stationary supplies were purchased at Fantasia in Bathurst.

Stuart & Leigh's Wedding335

Music: The couple chose country music singer Kaylee Bell to perform at the church and she further entertained the guests in the garden at Athol afterwards during drinks and canapés.

Special moments: The bride says she started crying before she even pulled up at the church! Then she walked in and saw that half the church was crying including the groom & groomsmen! – She says as soon as she saw Stuart standing there she couldn’t help but smile.

Our beautiful guest book was a wedding gift from a very special friend. She drew a tree and our guests put their finger prints as the leaves and signed it. We have it hanging on the wall in our house as a reminder of our special day.

Stuart & Leigh's Wedding336

Our amazing honeymoon in France and Italy was definitely a highlight too – an experience we will never forget. The most special thing for us was having our favourite people together to help us celebrate!

{Wack your smile on this} A 61 year wedding anniversary with a difference

If this doesn’t put a smile on your face you should go to the doctor. You know, because you are dead.

Style me pretty has published an ‘up’ theme photoshoot for a couple who have been married to each other for 61 years.

up

What makes this story just a little bit more beautiful is the fact that their wedding photographer actually stood them up on their wedding day and these are their ‘love photos’ – just 61 years later.

up3

What an amazing achievement. What great inspiration. I hope to be married at least 61 years as well.

Mr & Mrs Campbell – A day of love, laughter and family

“I love you more than there are stars in the sky and fish in the sea.”   - Nicholas Sparks

A girl I have been lucky enough to have known for a long time recently married her sweetheart. They are beautiful people inside and out and the Central Nest wishes them all the best for their future together.

The love birds: Adam Campbell & Clarissa Booth

The wedding party: Best Man – John Rudge – Maid of Honour – Alysha Booth – Page Boy – Oliver Bestwick

Ceremony: Algona at Mount Panorama Estate under a beautiful rotunda in front of the vineyard.

Reception: Also at Algona. The function room has spectacular views over Bathurst & is stunning by night looking out over all the lights.

It was important to us to have the ceremony & reception in the one place so our guests could arrive & enjoy themselves without having to find something to do while we had our photos.

campbell167

Theme: Classic and timeless with a colour palette of white and latte.

We chose to have a formal dress code which our friends loved! The boys love to ‘suit up’ and the girls had the chance to be glamorous.

The Dress: My dress wasn’t what I thought I wanted. The exact opposite actually. But when I saw it, I instantly fell in the love. I found it from a bridal shop in Parramatta.

It was a white, gorgeous sweet heart strapless corset, covered in crystals. With a full skirt from the waist down, full of beautiful ruffles with a train. As soon as I put it on I felt instantly like a princess.

Groom & wedding party attire: Adam, his best man & page boy, were dressed by Ben at Bent Threads Bathurst. They wore dark grey suits with matching vests, white shirts and latte coloured ties.

My gorgeous Maid of Honour wore a full length one shouldered latte coloured dress.

Decorations: White table clothes with white chair covers and latte sashes. The centrepieces were tall martini glasses filled with arrangements of white roses & greenery perched on top of round mirrors.

We also bought into the reception the two tall pillars of white roses and greenery that were used at the ceremony.

campbell136

Food: The food was prepared by Algona and was absolutely delicious! Food was another really important factor for us as it is one of the things guests will remember. We had a range of canapés served while we had our photos taken, mains were beef & chicken then we had our cake as dessert.

We also had a lolly bar. The theme for this was white, red & pink with a range of different lollies from Westco.

Cake: Our cake was made by a friend – Nikki Burden.

She created a 2 tier cake with chocolate mud and cherry ripe mud layers. The cake was consistent with our classic theme and was covered with a pearly white ganash. We also placed an arrangement of flowers that matched our bouquets on top of the cake.

Drinks: We had an open bar serving beer, wine & soft drink.

Photographer: Both Adam & I, along with my parents, agreed that we wanted a photographer that was going to capture our day and take those amazing shots that we can look back on in years to come & show our children. I cannot recommend Peter Gumpert. photographer enough.

Cars: We had two red mustangs. My father and I arrived in a soft top convertible mustang.

Rings: Adam found my ring in a jewellery shop in Pitt Street Sydney. It is a solitaire diamond in a claw setting with small diamonds down each side set in 18ct white gold. We then had the jeweller make my wedding band to match. Adams wedding band is from Michael Hill jeweller – a two toned titanium ring.

Hair/Make up: My hair was done by Emma from Hair by Hair. I had a classic chignon which was nice & simple as my dress was quite detailed. My makeup and nails were done from one of my best friends Robyn Tomlinson.

Music: We had a live band play at the reception called LKQ. They are a two piece band and absolutely fantastic. We had them play at our engagement party so we new they were going to be great!

Stationary: We had our wedding invitations designed and made from a lady locally. Again, we stuck to our white and latte theme with beautiful script writing.

Special moments: There were so many special moments from getting ready with my mum, Maria and my sister, Alysha at the beautiful cottage at Lochinvar at Mount Panorama, to my dad walking me down the aisle to Rod Stewart’s classic ‘Have I told you lately’. I remember seeing Adam at the end of the aisle and my heart skipping a beat.

My most favourite moment was when Adam & I read our own vows we wrote for each other. He had every single guest in tears. It was absolutely the most touching moment.

My dad bought me to tears with his speech… and so did my new husband. Adam said his most favourite moment was when we were introduced as Mr & Mrs Campbell to everyone at our reception and he was pretty chuffed about his vows and the fact that everyone was sobbing. He even had a few tears himself reading them!

Adam & I honestly had the best day of our lives followed by a wonderful honeymoon to Hawaii. We thank my parents Grant & Maria Booth for supporting us then & supporting us now and for giving us the wedding we always dreamt of. We can’t express just how much we love you! We also thank our bridal party, my sister and our best mate John Rudge, for helping to make our day so amazing.
